Description

Moonviewing, or O-Tsukimi in Japanese, is the custom of gazing at the full moon and enjoying its sacred beauty. Portland Japanese Garden schedules this beloved annual tradition to coincide with the harvest moon, which occurs anytime from September to early October. 

 

As guests anticipate the moonrise, they can stroll through the lantern-lit Garden, listen to authentic Japanese music, appreciate the special raked pattern of the Flat Garden, witness an evening tea ceremony in the Kashintei tea house, or compose haiku. 

 

Children aged 6 and up will need to have a ticket reserved to attend. Tickets are not required for children 5 and under.

Tickets are open to Golden Crane premium level members on 8/16, to all membership levels on 8/23, and to the general public on 8/30.
